Equipment and safety training is a priority at P&L. All newly-hired employees are required to pass a mandatory training session. Training consists of general and work area specific training. Our Landscape Maintenance Supervisor ensures that new employees understand the proper use and function of the equipment they will be handling. Training will be given until the employee is instructed in all aspects of his position and has mastered the proper handling and maintenance of the equipment he will be responsible for as well as routinely used equipment such as riding mowers, walk-behind mowers, edgers, blowers, hedge trimmers and chainsaws. A change in job responsibility or equipment might require an employee to receive updated training.Safety is emphasized repeatedly during our training process. Employees are reminded of the importance of safety to minimize hazards and prevent injury or loss. Employees are provided with safety protection gear and are encouraged to practice safety on the job.
